August 23rd Fishing Report

Water temperatures on Big Winnie are around 70 degrees. Trolling has been crucial for anglers this week, as fish are scattered in smaller pods and on the move. Walleyes are starting to appear along shoreline transitions on the west shore and the south shore, extending from Richards Townsite Landing towards the river. Shoreline fish are found in the 8-10 ft range. Photo courtesy of Captain Jeff Johnson of Northern Drift Outfitters.
