August 9th Fishing Report

Walleye and pike action across Lake Winnie’s major bar systems has been decent. Trolling patterns are proving more effective than casting techniques for most anglers. The best depth ranges have been 13-15 feet, whether on the bar systems or along the shoreline. August is a time for fast fishing and sampling a lot of water. Once you get a bite, try to replicate it on similar structures across the lake. Reports of crappies are starting to come in, with cooler temperatures this week triggering some crappie activity across the Lake Winnie region.
