July 26th Fishing Report

Panfish opportunities on Lake Winnie and Cutfoot Sioux continue to expand. Small spinner rigs with chunks of nightcrawler work well for targeting bluegills, while the same rig tipped with a minnow can increase your chances for crappies. Shallow weeds in the 5-7 ft range are producing the best results. Water temperatures on Lake Winnie remain in the mid-70s. Walleyes are relating to mid-lake bars and humps. To find larger concentrations of fish, look for rocky areas on top of these bars and humps, as well as steeper breaks. Pitching jigs with a nightcrawler or leech has been effective, along with bobber fishing. Pulling spinners is also proving effective, with the spinner bite expected to improve later in the evening.
