January 4th Fishing Report
January 4, 2024

Main lake ice has improved after last week’s rain and despite a few active cracks, you’ll find 8 to 10 inches of ice throughout the majority of the lake and it has firmed up again. It’s still best to keep working through a resort since they stay on top of any problem areas that do pop up. With that, ATVs and side-by-sides are being used out of most resorts. Low-light periods have been best for walleyes on main lake structure or shoreline breaks in 14 to 22 feet. You’ll find perch slightly shallower, but still structure-related. Be willing to drill holes and move.
